Vincent A Uthoff , PhD of Georgetown, Texas died on March 29, 2016 at the age of 73.

Vince is survived by his children, Heather, Alan, and Eric Uthoff; and brother, John Uthoff. He is preceded in death by his wife Janet, and brother Steve Uthoff. Vince was born on January 4, 1943 in Iowa City, Iowa to John and Hazel Uthoff. He earned a PhD in Statistics from the University of Iowa in 1968. After graduation, he worked as a professor at the University of West Virginia and lent his name to the Uthoff test for heavy-tailed statistical distributions. Later, Vince began working in the pharmaceutical industry, and was proud of his work toward the FDA approval of the ground-breaking immunosuppressant Tacrolimus. He married the love of his life, Janet Pollock, in 1976. Over the years, the couple welcomed three children into their family. His children remember him as a supportive father who provided well for his family and encouraged them to pursue their goals.

He was a scholarly man who loved the German language and who was passionate about genealogy. He was a member of the Wellspring United Methodist Church in Georgetown, TX, and volunteered on his neighborhood Public Improvement Board.
