In Loving Memory

Vincent Alan Uthoff, PhD

" I will always remember Vince as a friend of fellow PhD student who was both brilliant and reserved. His love of the German language and the religious history of post protestant reformation were obvious. Vince and another friend of mine with whom I worked as professors of computer science and statistics were the two top PhD students as the graduated from The University of Iowa. Along with these above mentioned tributes I recall that Vince loved sking when possible away from his professional duties. He will indeed be both remembered and missed. God Bless you Vince!! "

- David Rine, Friend and Fellow PhD student

" I will miss that dry sense of humor and his saying something that it took a minute for the listener to realize was laughing-out-loud hysterical! I loved that about Vince!"

- Annelle Pulliam, In-Law

" Our family enjoyed our frequent trips to Iowa to visit our Iowa cousins. We had fun playing Hearts and Chinese checkers, hiking, climbing, swimming, picnicking, going to the movies and extended family reunions. Vince and his brothers enjoyed these activities with us. I remember Vince as a lot of fun, an enthusiastic participant, full of interesting ideas and thoughts. We were all so proud of him when he finished his PhD and became a Professor. Jan was a wonderful addition to his life and they seemed perfect for each other. Our prayers are with all of his family at thus time. "

- Mary Huemiller Bragg, Cousin

" Vince was very much admired and very well liked by his classmates and teachers at Iowa City High School. He was an honor roll student and was in many class plays. I recall many nice times with him during our high school years."

" Vince and I were classmates in Iowa City High School (Class of 1961), taking Physics & Chemistry (under Art Campbell) & 2 yrs German together. Both of us also were raised Methodist, when Dr LL Dunnington was Minister there. These shaped our futures. R.I.P. "
